Elaborating a new theoretical framework to alternative forms of punitive intervention to criminal law: this is, in short, the ambitious goal of the PRIN 2022 BORDERLINE project, involving faculty, researchers, and researchers from the Dirpolis Institute (Law, Politics, Development) of the Sant'Anna School. LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome hosted the opening conference organized as part of this project, supported with PNRR funds.

Speaking at the opening event was professor of Criminal Law and director of the Dirpolis Institute (Law, Policy, Development) Gaetana Morgante, co-principal investigator of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna within the project. The Sant'Anna School research unit for the PRIN 2022 BORDERLINE project includes researcher Giuseppe Di Vetta and researchers Gaia Fiorinelli and Roberta De Paolis. Partners in the PRIN 2022 BORDERLINE project include LUISS Guido Carli, Unitelma Sapienza, and University Federico II of Naples.

The PRIN 2022 BORDERLINE project has the ambitious goal of elaborating a new theoretical framework to alternative forms of punitive intervention to criminal law, exploring the hybrid and integrated solutions provided today for law enforcement and crime prevention. BORDERLINE also outlines directions for developing integrated approaches that are efficient and capable of ensuring adequate levels of assurance.
